HOW TO TALK SO KIDS WILL LISTEN,
AND LISTEN SO KIDS WILL TALK

7 sessions of 2 1/2 hours each to learn how to deal with strong emotions, cooperation, autonomy, self esteem, self discipline, and strengthen the links with the family members.

​Groups of 10 adults, in Persons / Online

Individual sessions / Couple sessions.

​

It is necessary to get the Participant Workbook in English (US) to attend the sessions. 

We complete the sessions with reading the A.Faber and E.Mazlish' books at home ("How to talk so kids listen...," and "Your guide to a happier family") from the site How To Talk Workshops (US) or order them from your favorite bookshop.

The Complete 7-Session Program:

  • Session 1: Welcoming the Child’s / Teen’s emotions

  • Session 2: Encouraging cooperation

  • Session 3: When cooperation doesn’t work — what are the alternatives?

  • Session 4: How to meet the need for autonomy

  • Session 5: Boosting self-esteem through encouragement and the art of descriptive praise

  • Session 6: Freeing the Child / Teen from roles and labels

  • Session 7: Review of all tools, sharing experiences, and reflecting on challenges faced by participants

 

Goals:

  • spark children’s willingness to cooperate

  • help them regulate difficult emotions

  • express our own adult emotions without causing harm

  • learn to describe rather than interpret or judge

  • remain firm while maintaining everyone’s goodwill

  • use alternatives to punishment by encouraging responsibility and self-discipline

  • build and nurture relationships based on trust and mutual respect

 

Teaching Materials for the Program :

A Participant Workbook is required at the start of the program (18,40€ + transport fees), available ONLINE
